Sarju(Jeetendra),is a watchman with an ambition. With his modest earnings, he and his wife Laxmi(Maushmi Chatterji) send their son Amar(Deepak Tijori) to an engineering college. Amar resents his social status and so claims to be a prince of a state, to his fellow student. Asha(Neelam), the daughter of a rich buisnessman, also studyiing in the same college as Amar fall in love with each other. Amar ashamed to be called the son of a watchman, starts to live seaprately, gets job, and marries Asha. But Asha is rather fond of her in-laws and so brings them to her house. Her father grabs the opportunity and obtains Sarju's signature with the help of Amar, thus enabling them to demolish Sarju's house and construct a multistoried buiolding in it's place. In the meantime, Laxmi fall's seriously ill and has to be taken to America for treatment. Sarju turns desperate and turns to Amar for help, only to be turned down. Upbeat and heart broken, Sarju files a suit, for the recovery of all the money he had spent on his son's education. Will Sarju win the case? Will he be able to colect money to treat has wife?
