A sick and dying man whispers something in Meena�s (Rekha) ears just before his death. Abruptly Meena, who is a courtesan, stops entertaining her customers. Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty) a poor graduate is forced to driving an auto rickshaw for a living. When he lands in jail while helping a friend, a mysterious woman bails him out and gives him a job that pays well.
But there�s a catch. The job involves risking his life at every step. He is asked to collect all information on one Bhanu Pratap. Ironically Bhanu Pratap has two daughters (Moon Moon Sen and Mandakini) who both fall in love with our intrepid hero. While on the job Shankar learns that the mysterious Meena is weaving a web of intrigue and deceit, and that he is the bait.
