Everyone has their own visions of the perfect husband and the perfect father. Gopal(Dr. Shreeram Lagoo) fits everyone's version of both the perfect father and husband. He always thinks of his family before he thinks of himself. This aspect of his personality is what keeps him from telling his family the fact that he has cancer and needs medical treatment. He wants his children to fulfill their dreams and he doesn't want to hurt them. He tells them that he needs to move to Bombay for work. His wife, Asha(Nutan), finds out about Gopal's terrible disease and watches him die in Bombay. She also promises never to tell anyone that he's dead for his children's sake, however, it is against her religion to do so. Will Asha keep her promise to her husband until her children fulfill their dreams? Will Asha be able to stay married after becoming a widow?
