This is a story of a girl, Radha, who lives in a hovel. She is in desperate need of money to cure her ailing father. She musters up enough courage and with the help of Nirmal, gets a job. The owner of the mill, Nirmal, finally proposes to her and her life changes. Meanwhile, Radha is thrown off the property because she is unable to pay the rent. Radha agrees to convice the landlord that he must let her live on his property and she will pay the rent eventually. When she goes to his house, though, she understands of the landlords lustful desires and at the end, he commits a crime against Radha. Radha thinks that the only way to get rid of her misery was suicide. However, a man by the name of Mastram persuades her of not committing suicide and takes her to his house where she gives birth to a child. Radha reveals that Nirmal had proposed to her. Nirmal follows her, and after realizing her situation, decides to marry her. After that point, it is all downhill in the story...'
